Translating science to clinical practice in correctional settings

In this paper, we will examine evidence-based practice (EBP) as a primary example of translating science into practice, and the predominant model clinical within psychology. We argue that despite merits EBP its value for psychology, key conceptual issues arise from inquiry component model. Second, efforts to incorporate scientific models psychological correctional domain, RNR has assumed an impoverished, therefore, problematic version practice. describe three areas in which adhering RNR-based is particularly detrimental: flexibility, therapeutic alliance, expertise. To further our critique attempts translate corrections, revisit process discuss how these manifest Finally, outline revised formulation can overcome current translation view, provides more coherent comprehensive than approaches.
